PR & Emceeing: Bio Oil (with Access Communications)

Agency: Access Communications Access Communications is a Singapore-based PR agency with a Malaysian arm, servicing a number of mainly lifestyle clients. I was brought in as a temporary PR team member for the Kuala Lumpur-based office, and was primarily tasked with helping on the Bio-Oil account and for a specific media engagement event.

Brand: Bio-Oil Client: Nuvanta Malaysia (Provider and distributor of health and skincare products)

Event: The client organised an event for digital media specifically, and relevant to the Bio-Oil skincare brand invited bloggers and online portals that cover beauty and health topics. The event was to be held as an intimate, cosy, positive and empowering sharing session with female media attendees, with a few attendees who RSVP-ed beforehand agreeing to share personal testimonials of issues with skin and skincare.

With a very limited budget, I assisted the team at Access Comms with 1) Key contribution: As a highlight of the event programme I recommended my personal acquaintance celebrity stylist and groomer with the Miss Malaysia organisation Yogash to attend the event as a key speaker; 2) Key contribution: Emceeing and moderating the event personally while engaging with the media attendees;

3) Helping with various event management tasks such as hiring a photobooth service, which was a key feature the client requested for the event, and engaging a event management service to secure event set-up items; and finally

4) Various PR tasks such as inviting media and monitoring for event coverage.
