Brand: PalliativeCare.My launch, carried out by Hospis Malaysia (NGO)
Key achievement: Copywriting for a new medium; "(photography) exhibition".
Position held: I assisted as a temporary in-house member of the PR/Communications team at Hospis Malaysia, working towards the launch of the Palliative Care symbol and website.
Description:
Hospis Malaysia carried out a large campaign on palliative care via the launch of a palliative care symbol and website, with objectives to to promote awareness regarding this niche field of medicine and care while also making palliative care more universal without the promotion of any particular hospice organisation.
The highlight of the campaign was a photography exhibition held for about a week at a prominent shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, in order to connect with members of the public. The photographs were taken by none other than acclaimed published photographer and documentary-maker SC Shekar.
As a PR team contributor, I worked with both the photographer himself and patients who were photographed by interviewing them for the patient stories that would accompany their photographs on display, and would also appear on the main website. In addition, I also assisted with various tasks including media relations for the launch event, and wrote articles for various media (newspaper, main website, etc).
